Do you have a project to transform your business towards sustainability? Submit your application!
As part of its 13th edition, taking place on August 21 and 22 in Les Diablerets, the Moving Mountains Forum, in collaboration with the Vaud Cantonal Office for Sustainability and Climate, is launching a Call for Sustainable Transition Projects.
This ambitious call aims to go beyond sharing experience and raising awareness, to initiate transition and promote local action through the concrete implementation of sustainable transition projects in mountain regions.
The joint initiative of the Moving Mountains Forum and the Vaud Cantonal Office for Sustainability and Climate demonstrates strong support for Vaud-based project promoters active in mountain regions, keen to develop their business in a more sustainable way.
This call for projects will enable:
- The commitment of local players who will thus have the means to realize their project.
- An active and concrete participation in the transition of mountain regions through actions that reduce environmental impact while strengthening the economy through a better use of resources.
- A spotlight on projects whose results can be shared as part of the Moving Mountains Forum but also on various platforms, such as regiosuisse or Viva.
- The creation of a pool of projects that can then potentially benefit from other support such as collaborative projects or others.
Submit your project!
Are you a company, association or foundation operating in mountain regions (Alps, Pre-Alps, Jura mountains) in the canton of Vaud, and are you looking to move your business towards sustainability and decarbonization? Submit your project!
The application must include:
- The application form, downloadable by clicking here, to be completed and signed.
- A presentation of the project (maximum 2 pages), containing: description and aims of the project, impact sought, interest from the point of view of sustainability in mountain regions, partners involved and role, budget estimate and timetable.
Applications must be sent by e-mail to appelaprojets@movingmountainsforum.com by October 31, 2024.
Projects will be selected in November.
Eligibility requirements
The theme of sustainable transition in mountain regions must be central to the projects submitted. The typology of projects is broad: they may involve new technologies, awareness-raising initiatives, new tourism offerings, the acquisition of new skills or even projects to adapt to climate change. This may involve, for example, reducing CO2 emissions, saving energy, making better use of local resources, reducing waste, protecting natural habitats and species, or developing sustainable services or infrastructures. We’re counting on your creativity!
Support is reserved for Vaud-based, non-public legal entities (companies, associations or foundations). Projects that already benefit from subsidies, such as standard photovoltaic installations, are excluded.
Financing arrangements
Projects are financed by the State up to a maximum of 30,000 Swiss francs, representing a maximum of two-thirds of the project cost. The project owner is responsible for the remaining third. Public funding consists of 50% from the FSED and 50% from the NPR, provided the project is located in a mountain region.
