10th Moving Mountains Forum:
Save the date, the 3rd of September 2021

FINANCING SUSTAINABLE TRANSITION IN THE MOUNTAINS

Since 2012, the Moving Mountains Forum has been working to network the very concrete challenges faced by mountain communities in inventing a sustainable future, and the bearers of innovative projects, proven solutions and promising ideas. For its tenth edition, which will be held in a mixed format (physical presence and remote connection), the forum will focus on a crucial element of the sustainable transition: its financing.

Faced with the multiplicity and importance of the needs, which often greatly exceed their autonomous capacities and their indigenous needs, mountain communities are often dependent on state and parastatal funding programmes, with very strict rules. What are the reasons for this? What is the place of innovation? What impulses for “smart villages”?

And how can private initiatives fit into this development? What models work, from participatory financing to investment funds and fully financed infrastructure projects?

And in the medium term, what financing for what new challenges? Socio-economic paradigm shifts, changes in tourism, the role of technology, how to anticipate tomorrow’s investments today?

With the help of concrete examples, the multidisciplinary players in this upheaval – local elected representatives, entrepreneurs, experts, financiers, etc. – will detail their solutions, compare their ideas and look for common paths.

Round tables, presentations, debates, workshops: a day of reflection and action for sustainable transition in the mountains.

From now on, book your participation in the forum online or in person.

Register now – preferential rate before July 31. Together, let’s move mountains!
See you on September 3rd at the Moving Mountains Forum Ecovillages!
